Homecoming Celebration and Other Information
We want to thank Mrs. Tinsley for getting our homecoming banner together and helping the students add their personal touch. We can't wait to see the banner as it makes its way around the track on Friday. Feel free to come and join us on the football field for our homecoming pep rally!
Thursday (9-19) will be Wacky Tacky Dress-Up Day for lower school. Friday (9-20) will be Spirit Dress-Up Day for lower school. The students will be allowed to wear their homecoming tee-shirts with jeans. If they did not purchase a tee-shirt they will be allowed to wear any GWA tee shirt to show their support and spirit for the GWA Bulldogs!
We will have our final selection test and spelling test for Unit 1 on Friday. Next week, we will be having Benchmark Test 1 in reading so we will not have spelling homework, a spelling test, a selection test, or reading homework from the workbook. We will start again with the Unit 2 stories on Sept. 23
We are getting close to the end of our nine week grading period. The end of the nine weeks is October 11th. This will be a half day with school ending at 12:30 with normal carpool pick-up. The buses will leave the school at 1:00. We will have a school holiday on Monday, October 14th. There will not be an after school help session on this day.
Remember the new time for the after school help sessions is Friday from 2:30 - 3:15. I will let you know if your child needs to stay on that day. I had to rearrange the help session day this week to Wednesday from 2:30 - 3:15 because of homecoming being on Friday.
Don't forget that the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new courtyard will be Friday at 6:00 before the homecoming parade and game. You are all invited to attend!
