We had such an AWESOME week thanks to
our wonderful parents!
Tuesday we had a wonderful evening showing our GWA parents how we are "Making Futures Brighter" and sharing all the wonderful things we are doing here at school.
Thanks parents for attending Curriculum Night.
We enjoyed meeting with you.
Thank you so much ladies who helped make our Halloween party on Thursday so much fun.
Your hard work was very much appreciated by teachers and students.
The treats, story teller, and games you scheduled for us were just perfect!
The day ended with a wonderful pep rally on the football field.
Also, thank you to the parents who chaperoned the field trip to Stone Mountain.
We loved having you with us and we certainly could not have had
such a wonderful time without you!
I have posted some new pictures of all the events on our photo page.
We enjoyed our first Latin lesson this week.
The students learned several new words
and learned how those words related to other words in our vocabulary.
For those of you who would still like your students to work on Spanish,
I would like to share a link to a website call DuoLingo.
The website is free and there is also a free app you can download to your mobile device.
I have been using it myself to learn French and to stay fresh on my Spanish.

Week of Nov. 3-7
Week of Nov. 3-7
Reading: The students seem to really be enjoying Blood On The River. We will be working on chapters 9-12 (B.O.T.R.) with a quiz on Friday over these chapters. I will post vocabulary and vocabulary pictures on the blog. Please make sure to take a look at these.
Spelling: Unit 3 Week 1: Adding -ed and -ing to words: When adding -ed and -ing, the spelling of the base word sometimes changes:dancing, dried, stopped. Some base words are not changed: drying, watched.
Grammar: We will have a test on Tuesday over singular/plural/irregular plural nouns/pronouns/plural pronouns. The students took home a study guide this past Thursday that is due back on Tuesday (11/4) completed. We will begin work on possessive nouns and possessive pronouns on Wednesday.
Social Studies: We will start Chapter 2 this week: Age of Exploration and will learn why Europeans wanted to explore. The students seem to be enjoying social studies, but it does require reading the text and studying a little each day. There will be a vocabulary quiz and the chapter 2 test will be the week of Nov. 10-14.
Math & Writing: Check with those teacher's websites for updates on these subjects.
